Today's eats

My first goal is to blog everything I eat. All of it, even the bad shit. I know bad shit happens, but maybe forcing myself to write it down here will at least get me to think about if it is worth it.

I am following a low carb/low glycemic diet recommended to me by my doctor. I am not eating only red meat and butter, and I am not going to give myself a heart attack.

So without further ado, here we go!

Breakfast- 2 eggs, 2 sausage links 3 carbs
Lunch- 4oz chicken breast with hot sauce, 2tbs bleu cheese dressing.
1 flax muffin with butter
Snack- handful of roasted peanuts
Dinner- 6oz pot roast, 3/4 cup sauteed mushrooms, 1 glass red wine

All about me, pillows and blankets will be provided.

There is nothing quite like a blank page, an idea about what you want to write, and having no words to put to paper. I'm going to spare you my life story, as for the most part its the story of thousands of girls throughout the country. I'll give you the highlights, fill in gaps as I see fit, and hope that I don't lose what few people may be reading this.

The quick and dirty:
28 years old, grew up in Alaska (great place to visit, don't want to live there again), met my now husband Caleb when I was 18, moved to Colorado, married him, adopted 2 evil cats, went to college, graduated, bought a house, quit my job, and am now a glorified housewife hoping to have kids in the near future. The catch is summed up in a word: cancer.

Cancer is something that has been a part of my existence for over 6 years now. In 2001, Caleb was diagnosed with it, and has brought us to where we are today. He went through 2 surgeries, 3 rounds of chemo, weeks of puking, weight loss, hair loss, and all he got was "congratulations, you're alive, but you're also infertile. Good thing you banked some sperm before you went into surgery". The cancer was in remission, but 6 years later, we are now having to deal with the infertile part.

Our journey to this point has been nearly a year long. We attempted many less invasive treatments this summer, but I did not respond. So now we are gearing up for Operation IVF, scheduled for summer 2009. My goal right now is to drop 30-40 pounds before we begin cycling. At this point, this is going to be a weightloss blog, that will likely morph into an IVF blog when the time comes. No lies, no excuses. Just me and my inner demons. The time has come for me to take care of me, so I can be the best spawnling growth unit possible.
